Derrick 17 year old boy. (If the actor is 18 would be great). Athletic basketball player. Loves video games and hanging out with friends. Good with texting with a phone. Finds the girl he has liked since the beginning of high school is now going to a party with his friends. However in order to get the car he has to take his grandfather to the doctor’s office. He mostly just wants it done and over with. But as he slowly listens to his grandfather talking with his friends he finds his grandfather used to be a sharp shooter in the Korean War. Witch interests him. However he soon finds that his grandfather is quitting treatment. After arguing with his grandpa he finally understands him. And realizes he needs to let him go and to understand he needs to appreciate the time he has with his grandfather.

Gorge Early 80’s is Derrick’s grandfather. He is a family man who loves his grandchildren and tries to stay apprised of his grandchildren. He is happy that derrick is taking him to the appointment but doesn’t want the family to know do to the fact that he loves them and does not want to see them go through pain. He could go for another treatment but knows the cost and doesn’t want to be a burden to his family and views he is old and misses his wife so much. He watched her go through treatment up tell she died and doesn’t what his family to have to see him go through that. He also fought in the Korean War and was lightly wounded so when it came time to go home he to a position in the military typing papers in an office in Germany instead.

Mother 40’s daughter to Gorge mother of Derrick. She is a fast pace woman who is a stay at home mom. Takes care of her family in any way she can. She loves Gorge and would love her children to get to know her father and sees this opportunity to do that. As well as help her to accomplish the days activities.

Trevor 9 wants to be like his brother Derrick. He looks up to him and wants to do the same cool stuff his brother dose but doesn’t want derrick to know his want.

Bill Early 80s a childhood friend of Gorge. He never really had a family married for some time but divorced. More of a business man who is a bit bitter he does not have a family like Gorge. Admires Gorge but despises him too. Uses his opportunity to tell the others about the quitting of treatment. As a way to get back at his own pains at not having a family who loves and cares for him.

Mark 60s a child hood friend of Gorge. Was also in the fire department with Gorge. He has a family but doesn’t get to see them as much as Gorge but has somewhere to go on holidays. Mark mostly wants to find out what has happened to some of his friends form the fire department.

Dennis Early 80s (not in the script but if we can find him some of marks lines and a few of bills go to this character if we can find one to play.) He is good friends with bill. He has lung cancer loves to smoke his cigars. Has a family but hasn’t seen them in years. He wants to win the poker game more than the others.

Kenny Early 80s He is going deaf but used to be a used car salesmen. So he misses being the center of attention and tries to get attention when he can. But can’t hear so well. A long time friend of the group but newer then the others. He starves for attention however is forgetful and forgets to take his anti sick medicine and is trying to hold it in.

Tara 27 a beautiful nurse who works hard but has compassion and loves to help those around her. She tries to help those around her as much as she can.

Debra 30 she has been working there for some time has a friendly personality. She enjoys her job and to know everything about everyone.

Doctor he is a good man who cares about his patients and wants to help them out the best he can.

Old man as old and sickly as we can get. He represents what gorge will become with his cancer. And the gilt that exists in Derricks heat.

old mans daughter. She’s a business woman who is taking an hour of her work day to take in her father. She is more interested in her work then her father.

I also need extras 2-5 cancer patients. And 2-4 nurses and office staff.
