SCERA is holding auditions
for its first musical of the summer at the SCERA Shell Outdoor Theatre in Orem.
Auditions for the Broadway classic “The Wizard of Oz,” directed by Jeremy
Showgren, will be held on Wednesday, April 25 and Thursday, April 26 from
6:30-9:30pm at the SCERA Center for the Arts, 745 South State, Orem.
There are roles
for children 8 and older and adults 18 and older. Auditioners should prepare to
sing 16 measure of a Broadway showtune. The director has requested no songs from
“Les Miserables” or Annie,” please.
An accompanist
will be provided, and is the preferred method for auditioning, but a CD player
and IPOD playback will also be available. No appointment is necessary to
audition. Those invited to callbacks on Saturday, April 28 will participate in
a dance audition.
“The Wizard of
Oz” will be performed on the SCERA Shell Outdoor Theatre June 8-23 on Mondays,
Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays @ 8:00pm.
