UT, 'Toyland'
The Children's Theatre is casting "Toyland," the classic operetta that follows the dastardly Barnaby as he tries to win the heart of Bo Peep. The Children's Theatre has been producing Toyland since 1987. It was brought back in 2007 and entering its sixth year since the reboot. Jennifer Hohl, dir.; Marilyn Montgomery, choreo.
Rehearsals are typically Mon.-Thurs. evenings 7-10 p.m., Sat. 9 a.m.-noon (longer on some days) Longer rehearsals begin ten days to two weeks prior to opening. Performances will be Dec. 7, 14, 17, & 20 at 7 p.m.; Dec. 8 & 15 at 1 & 4:30 p.m.: Dec. 21 at 3 & 7 p.m.; Dec. 22 at 11 a.m., 3 & 7 p.m.: and Dec. 24 at 1 p.m. in S. Salt Lake City, UT.
Seeking─Actors/Singers: males and females, all ages, all ethnicities.
Note: The Children's Theatre encourages all young actors to audition regardless of available roles. This gives the young actor experience in auditioning and also allows the theatre to get acquainted with the young actor for future roles.
Auditions will be held Nov. 3, 9:30 a.m.-noon at The Children's Theatre 3605 S. State St., S. Salt Lake City, UT. Check in at the Music Room, which is the glass door to the left of the theatre building entrance.
Prepare 16 bars of an up tempo song. An accompanist will be provided. Auditioners should memorize one of the character sides (read if you must, but memorizing is so much better) at the bottom. Bring a pix & resume (not required, but super helpful).
For more info, visit www.tctheatre.org, email auditions@tctheatre.org or call (801) 532-6000.
Some pay for adult actors, $75 (baseline) for the run plus profit sharing of ticket sales. Compensation for adult actors (18+) has changed during their theatre building fundraising campaign. Actors will still have the opportunity to earn the usual $150 for the run and more depending on single ticket sales for the run.
Please let Craze know if you are booked, commissions due as always! Thanks
