— Auditions to be the next UW Idol are scheduled Friday, Jan. 27, at 9 p.m. in the Wyoming Union Ballroom. The UW Idol open-call audition is free and open to the public.
"Do you think you have what it takes to be the next UW Idol? Here's your chance to prove it and win some cash in the process," says Kat Nicola, Friday Night Fever marketing chair.
All UW Idol participants must be UW students. The first 100 applicants who submitted an application to the Campus Activities Center before the posted deadline, Friday, Jan. 27, at noon will be guaranteed an audition slot during the open call audition.
If fewer than 100 applications are received, students that did not submit an application can audition on a first-come, first-serve basis, if time allows at the event. Participants will sing a 30-second a cappella song of their choice. Fifteen students will be selected to perform at the semifinals Friday, Feb. 3. An award will be given to the "most creative" audition.
